I am an ACE certified Personal Trainer and Functional Training Specialist. My toolbox includes Yoga, Pilates, Yamuna Body Rolling and Yamuna Table Treatment. I offer private and semi-private sessions in your own home and I teach small group classes in downtown Vancouver.
Yamuna Body Rolling
With this approach, I will help you create your own body sustainability. Using the Yamuna balls, you can target superficial skin, fasciae, muscle fibers, tendons, ligaments, bones, internal organs, and the nervous system. This unique method has aspects of both exercise and treatment. Leading individual body parts to their accurate positions, YBR makes necessary space in the body, increases circulation, and improves range of motions.
I love all the different styles of yoga; Ashtanga, Anusara, Iyengar, Kripalu, Viniyoga etc.. I trained as a teacher with Karen Claffey of Heaven on Earth studio in Montreal in 2003-2004 in the Anusara style of Hatha Yoga. My approach to teaching yoga is from a functional viewpoint. Your body is meant to move! Yoga is a great tool to explore the limits of your capabilities. My yoga teaching focuses on structurally aligning the body to use the muscles effectively. I now teach a blend of yin, power and hatha yoga, adapting each class to the people I’m working with.
I trained as a Pilates instructor both on the mat and on the reformer in 2013-14 with both the Physical Mind Institute and the Stott Pilates school. This method helped me to precisely identify my core muscles. Using Pilates, I help my clients move from the inside out; Pilates is great for people who are seeking to build lean and strong bodies.
